Brenda Edwards explains eye patch on Loose Women after contracting infection

'You've gotta work it and own it'

Brenda Edwards has revealed why she was forced to wear an eye patch while presenting Loose Women today (May 13).

The star was on the panel alongside Charlene White, Coleen Nolan and Judi Love.

And, before the panel got to Judi’s “side eye incident” with Lorraine Kelly, Charlene addressed Brenda‘s sparkly eye patch.

Loose Women star Brenda Edwards on why she wore eye patch

“B, you’ve got your eye patch on today, what happened?” Charlene asked at the top of the show.

I’m okay, just something’s gone in there and it’s swollen up.

“Erm, I’ve just got an allergic reaction to something, you know hay fever sufferers, so I’m wearing a patch and it’s fine,” Brenda replied.

“It’s not like it’s a fashion accessory and you can’t put any make-up on,” Charlene added.

“No, and I’m trying not to get any more dust particles in it,” Brenda explained.

‘My eye has swollen up’

She also took to Instagram to share a couple of stories about her injury.

Before going live, Brenda said: “Just to send this little short video to say there’s nothing wrong, I’ve just got an infection and my eye has swollen up so I thought I’d do a little bit of a bling thing today.

“You’ve gotta work it and own it. So just to let you know that I’m okay, just something’s gone in there and it’s swollen up.”

She then shared a video of herself singing What Shall We Do With The Drunken Sailor?, poking fun at the fact she looked like a pirate with the eye patch.

Get well soon, Brenda!
