Some soap fans have been having trouble separating fact from fiction, it would seem.
Emmerdale star Charlotte Bellamy has revealed that she has been getting “hassled” by people who disapprove of her character’s actions…
Appearing on This Morning on Wednesday (24 May), the 44-year-old actress admitted that fans who don’t like her character Laurel Thomas’ affair with Bob Hope have been letting her know in no uncertain terms!
Talking to hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, she said: “I’m getting quite a lot of hassle, I have to say, from people.

“Everyone is very disappointed in Laurel having an affair, but it’s kind of boring being good, isn’t it?”
She added: “People are coming up and tutting at me. But it’s fine, I just take it on the chin.”
Laurel and Bob’s affair began last year and continued throughout his engagement to long-suffering Brenda.

In emotional scenes that aired earlier this month, Brenda and Bob got married – but decided to split up hours into the reception!
Bob and Laurel are now together – Brenda, who? – and trying to make a go of their relationship.

But fans still aren’t happy, calling the relationship “ridiculous”, “unbelievable” and “selfish”.
Oh dear, looks like scriptwriters can’t win with this one!
