Emmerdale star Charlotte Bellamy has recalled how she was previously rushed to A&E following an accident on set.
The actress has played Laurel Thomas on the ITV soap since 2006. And it’s fair to say the character has had her fair share of dramatic moments in the famous Dales.
But one incident while filming Emmerdale saw Charlotte “chop off the top of her finger” and was rushed to A&E straight away.
Charlotte Bellamy recalls on-set accident at Emmerdale
On Wednesday (July 3) Charlotte appeared on Lorraine. Chatting to host Lorraine Kelly, the soap star recalled a previous dramatic accident when filming the ITV soap.
On the take, I chopped the top of my finger off.
Charlotte told Lorraine: “So during filming, I was making a bolognese, as you do, with a very blunt knife. And on the take, I chopped the top of my finger off.
“But at the time, I was pretending to be pregnant as Laurel, and so I had to get rushed into A&E with the prop man.”
While at the hospital, Charlotte recalled how due to her fake pregnancy bump, members of the public shared their concern.
“They were so confused and worried about my baby, but obviously my baby wasn’t real,” she added.
Charlotte continued: “And I had to say ‘that’s not my husband’ and ‘this isn’t real’. But I had actually chopped the top of my finger off.”
