Kate Middleton news: Princess of Wales ‘considering’ surprise appearance at Trooping the Colour ‘if she’s well enough’

She's kept a low profile recently

| Updated:

In the latest Kate Middleton news, it’s been claimed the royal could be making a surprise return to the spotlight.

The Princess has kept a low profile in recent months following her shock cancer news. Kate shared her cancer diagnosis in a video message earlier this year. Kate admitted her diagnosis following abdominal surgery in January came as a “huge shock”.

Now, it’s been reported that a return to Trooping the Colour could be on the cards for Kate – but apparently on one condition only.

Kate Middleton news: Royal not attending Colonel’s Review

Last month, it was confirmed that Kate wouldn’t be making an appearance at the Colonel’s Review following speculation she would be well enough to attend.

The ceremonial military event took place on June 8 in London – the weekend before June 15th’s Trooping the Colour.

Because Kate is a colonel in chief of the Irish Guards, she usually takes the salute. Instead, Lieutenant General James Bucknall, the former commander of the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps, took the salute.

However, despite not appearing at the Colonel’s Review, it’s been reported that Kate could make a surprise appearance at Trooping the Colour.

Kate Middleton to make surprise return to spotlight?

Mirror reports that Princess Kate, who has taken a step back following cancer treatment, is considering making an appearance on the famous balcony at Buckingham Palace.

It’s understood that Kate will only walk onto the balcony if she is feeling well enough.

Entertainment Daily! UK has contacted representatives for comment.

King Charles at Trooping the Colour

Things will be looking different at this year’s event. Not only will Kate be replaced, but King Charles will be breaking tradition.

The monarch will be in attendance with Queen Camilla for Trooping the Colour. However, he will not be on horseback, like he normally would. Instead, he will conduct the review seated in a carriage with Camilla.

Kate Middleton shock cancer diagnosis

Filmed whilst sat in the sunshine on a bench, the Princess of Wales thanked the public for their concern and well wishes after undergoing abdominal surgery and stepping away from the spotlight.

Kate’s illness caused countless conspiracy theories and rumours to spiral, which the mum-of-three put to rest in her touching message.

In the video, Kate said: “In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present.

“My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventive chemotherapy. Ad I am now in the early stages of that treatment.

“This of course came as a huge shock. And William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.”
