Roman Kemp – who is hosting The Finish Line today (May 27) – opened up about his dad’s brain tumour scare earlier this month.
The TV star’s dad, Martin Kemp, had a brain tumour scare back when he was in his 30s.

Musician Martin had a huge scare at 34 when he found out that he had two brain tumours.
Martin opened up about the ordeal in his and Roman‘s new podcast, FFS! My Dad’s Martin Kemp.
“I don’t know how long I’ve got left, but I will tell you, since I was the age of 34, when I went through all of that brain tumour scare, I spent two years of my life thinking I was going to die,” he said.
“And I will tell you something, it’s really strange that when I was 34 and stuff and I went through that brain tumour stuff, I was practically resigned to the fact that I was going to die, but I was quite happy with my lot, because I had lived the most incredible experiences,” he later added.
Martin had been diagnosed with two benign tumours after wife Shirlie noticed a mass growing on his head.

On May 13, Roman appeared in Children In Need’s Heaviest Backpack campaign. It was shown on The One Show.
During the segment, Roman looked through childhood photos as he spoke about his struggles with mental health.
He also opened up about his dad’s cancer scare.
“These pictures are always quite precious to me because my dad is in full recovery here for the two brain tumours he had. I always look at these pictures and think about how scary it is that they might never have existed,” he confessed.
The Finish Line star Roman Kemp on ‘worst presenting moment’
Last month, Roman appeared on the BRITs podcast, The Red Carpet Treatment.
During the interview, Roman revealed his worst presenting moment – and it concerned Sir David Attenborough.
“One of my worst presenting moments was when I was interviewing Sir David Attenborough and the producer that was in the earpiece in my ear was going ‘he’s running over, you got to wrap him up. You got to wrap him up’,” he said.
“That’s the only time I’ve ever taken the earpiece out my ears and said ‘I’m sorry. I’m not doing it. Yeah, can you tell that man- he was giving a full speech so, you know,” he then added.
